Life Coaching vs. Therapy

What is the difference between coaches and therapists? While both offer valuable guidance, it’s important to understand their distinct roles. Therapists primarily focus on helping clients address and resolve past issues and traumas, such as PTSD, bipolar disorder, clinical depression, and other mental health concerns. On the other hand, coaches primarily support clients in overcoming current obstacles and challenges. Unlike therapists, coaches do not provide analysis, diagnosis, or prescribe treatment. Coaches are best suited for individuals who are already functioning well but are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. The main objective of a coach is to assist clients in taking targeted actions that lead them from feeling stuck to feeling empowered and liberated.
